Youth and Adults Acting for our Earth—YAE!

We at Climate Change Recovery are dedicated to training and supporting students and parents from all backgrounds, creating a more diverse and inspirational group of leaders from all over who can expand the movement and take effective action against global warming.

Training

Our Youth and Adults Acting for our Earth (YAE!) Training Program, trains and supports youth and adults from many backgrounds to address the climate crisis.

We do this through our free or low-cost peer-led trainings for students of all ages that are supported by local community organizations and other kind donors.

Registration is open to all CSCE 6th-8th graders and to other youth and adults by special arrangement. (Please contact Pam at the email below to learn more.)

Everyone participating will remained masked for the entire time of the training (except during shared meals, when we will social distance accordingly. The only other times where we may optionally take off masks will be during the final photos (which take less than 5 minutes), and the morning presenters may take off their mask during their presentation if we are able to sufficiently distance them from everyone else. Everyone leading the training is fully up-to-date on masks and boosters.

The training is free.
If you feel able, there is an optional, tax-deductible donation of $36 per student.

This training will be led by some of our amazing YAE climate leaders including Callie Greene, Isaac Vergun, Travis Lipman, Rikin Mainali, Erik Hagström, and Nagwa Emam.

VIP guest speakers will include:
Gary White, Climate Reality Leader,
Wilford Welch, Diplomat, Consultant, Presidio Graduate School Instructor, and author of In Our Hands: A Handbook for Intergenerational Actions to Solve the Climate Crisis, and
Phil Gregory, Of Council, Our Children’s Trust!

Though many who do our YAE training are just beginning to learn more about global warming and use this as a chance to step into the climate movement, some of those who have done this training were already climate leaders—such as several plaintiffs in the federal climate case, Juliana et al. v. U.S. Why would someone already knowledgeable about the climate crisis do this training? Here is one perspective, from a sustainability and climate leader.

Teamwork & Empowerment

YAE climate leaders and their families gather in person and through online community gatherings for mutual support and to take action on global warming.

Our leaders support each other and their communities through collaboration with organizations working on the climate crisis and other urgent and interrelated social justice issues.
